About the role 

Data is the bloodline of what we do and how we drive decisions. We want you to love working with data, understanding how the data is connected and making sure it flows as it should. You get excited by technology that pivots how companies work with data - you want data to be as automated, seamless and reliable as possible.  

 

As a Data Engineer you will design, implement and maintain our core data for our commercial, product, insights and ML teams. You will act as a bridge between our data and Tech teams, ensuring we utilize the full potential of our data. You have deep technical knowledge into database and cloud solutions, and use this expertise to envision the best possible lasting and reliable data solutions ‍⚙️ 

 

What you will do

  • Develop and maintain our main Data Pipelines, both streaming and batch in a scalable, secure and efficient way.  
  • Enable other teams to use data in a seamless way 
  • Help stakeholders around the company understand the power of data, democratize data and build a leading data platform for use within the company and externally 
  • Work with PMs, end-users, analyst and developers to understand, document and analyze needs for data solutions 
  • Innovate and stay up to date: we are on a continuous learning and growth trajectory, so we need the best solutions available to help us scale. When it comes to data - we will lean on you for those solutions 
  • Build & improve data queries in our data warehouse to prepare & analyze data  
  • You are the expert; you help us define what is next – excite and surprise us with your knowledge and understanding 🔥 

 

Preferred qualities and beliefs 

  • 4+ years as Data/Cloud engineering or Cloud Service background, with some knowledge of Presto, Hive, Spark or similar 
  • Strong aptitude for identifying underlying business challenges and framing actionable solutions 
  • Proactive and enthusiastic about data integrity and results, and capable of working independently, solving these challenges from start to end 
  • Huge plus with experience with AWS solutions S3, RedShift, Glue and/or DataFlow and other solutions like Snowflake, Fivetran, Stitch 
  • Strong skills in SQL and Python, and some skills in Java a plus 
  • You see complex challenges and vast amounts of data as an opportunity with which you can grow 🏆 

 

Minimum Requirements 

  • Minimum 2 years of professional experience in a similar role (Data Engineer/Cloud) 
  • Knowledge and experience working with databases in a Cloud environment 
  • Higher education (BSc or MSc) within Computer Science or other relevant field 
  • Strong analytical and problem-solving skills 
  • Fluency in English
